Lion42
These batteries are sold in Germany as Lion42 and many of the users of which are totally thrilled! I know Segway owners who thus equipped several of their vehicles.
Something surprises me the differences in the acceptance of alternative batteries. I believe that it is very difficult to bring new full batteries on the market, because to the housing and the BMS circuit boards are needed. Who must produces new boards must also have the proprietary software to communicate with the Segway Base in the correct manner. If Chinese on behalf of the company Segway produce circuit boards, then this may have the original program-file to load it into the Freescale-Chip on the PCB. With the program in hand, the Chinese could build a few PCBs for themselves after work ... But without the program and without the printed circuit boards, the supplier of alternative batteries would be forced to produce it themselves. And if the communication to the Segway base does not match the original, the Segway goes into emergency shutdown. To emulate the bus I think is a big problem with respect to the system security. Here I see the main problem for the producers of alternative batteries. |
