Default Loose handlebar (gen1)

Well, maybe not loose, but it does move some. The shaft is firm, but the handlebar on top moves a little up and down (like a see-saw) and a little twisty (like if you used it like a steering wheel to turn left and right). Doesn't seem stable.

I snapped off the front trim, but there's nothing behind that. Anyone know what I might do to tighten it up? I'm afraid it might break in a hard turn - I use a lot of body-english and pull on the bars when I lean left and right.

Thanks for any help.

Jim

Actually there is supposed to be a little slack. You can take some out by prying up the key cover and tightening the hex hut there

Thanks, Jeff. How much is "a little slack?" Mine moves maybe a half inch - measured from the very end of the handlebar grips. That sound about right?

What would be the best tool to use to pry up the key cover? Is there a spot I should start at?

I appreciate your help.

Default Handlebar Tightening

Jim,

See the following thread:

http://forums.segwaychat.com/showthr...bar+tightening

I hope this helps.

Here is another one with video:

Watch the video. Jared from Segway of Ohio did a great job on this.
