12K Fun Miles
Am approaching 10-years ownership on i2
All original (except tires of course) As of August 2019 12,000 miles A few minor issues with InfoKEY and less battery range, still glides just fine. Last used in 2019, now in storage, got an eBike in 2019 and have been using it instead of SEG . . . have not decided on future for SEG - - - it has been so reliable and fun over the years - - - |

I don't imagine I'll be seeing Blinky. I don't think I do 100 miles a year.

Segway On Q had a PT reach 30,000 (March 2015), two more since
Here in New Zealand, Segway Tour operator Segway On Q had their first i2 reach 30,000km (about 18,640 miles) in March 2015. Several more of the PTs in his fleet surpassed this distance a couple of years later (into the late-30,000's if I recall correctly, before retiring).
For this first particular PT, it actually failed soon after, and was uneconomic to repair (but it still had some useful parts that could be put to use on other PTs in the fleet). https://segwaynz.wordpress.com/2015/...st-serving-pt/ With the New Zealand border closed to all tourists since March 2019, this is very difficult time for our Segway Tour Operators. Depending on the town/location of the tour, 50% to 75% of customers were international tourists...so the going is pretty tough. No doubt it is a similar situation in many other places around the world. And here's an article about Auckland Hospital that clocked up 7,000 km (~4,400 miles) delivering on-campus mail between 2008 and 2013. This PT was used for two delivery-time-critical mail runs to the outer buildings every day. Read more here: https://segwaynz.wordpress.com/2016/...land-hospital/ Philip

my two Segway X2 had both gear boxes replaced twice already...
I cant see the mileage on my segways anymore but i can say the last time i checked (couple years ago) there was a lot of 9's in there.
They are old, beat, not looking the best anymore but i have replaced both gearboxes twice on both of them because the were completely broken, noisy and grinding all the teeth down. Too bad we cant find replacement parts for them anymore. On that subject... where can i get new parts for my segways now ? From gear boxes to CU boards ? Thanks |
