Ninebot ES2 New Firmware 1.4.5
Installed yesterday on ES2 + external battery and the results are:
- less speed, from 30-31 kph to 27-28 kph - less braking power - more range, most likely do to the lower top speed |

I installed it today and straight away noticed the decreased breaking power.
Additionally the energy recovery system no longer works, you release the accelerator and nothing happens. Changing the setting on the app to stronger or weaker has no effect either. |

Is Segway aware of all these issues? Anybody transmitting these issues to them?

Yeah, Segway should do something about this. If the new firmware (1.4.5) has been pulled off already (as I've heard), it should be downgradeable for us who have installed the new one.
IMO, the problem with the 1.4.5 firmware seems to be that whenever the throttle is released, the braking kicks in too agressively. And for the same reason, when going downhill, it's hard to brake smoothly. This would maybe be justified if it saves the dashboards from burning but just for handling the scooter the new firmware doesn't seem to be any better, or more safe? Otherwise, I really like the product (ES1 with the extra battery). |
