anyone know how to source Segway wheel nuts?
They look like car wheel lugnuts. Are they metric?

Yes, they are metric.
You could go to a specialty shop, like Fastenal. http://www.fastenal.com/web/home.ex That is where I got some bits and pieces over the years for segway wheel accessories. Good luck. Have fun.

Are the nuts different between the i170/180 and the i2? I have an i170 and one of the wheel nuts seems to get loose regularly now. My eyesight isn't great, but it looks like the threads inside the nut are getting bad, but the threads on the axle look fine. I put some locktite (medium) on the bad one tonight, but I'm not happy with that solution.

In the past, I had gone to fastenal, and got a union nut instead, and used that to mount the wheel, and then threaded in a simple bolt that I used to mount my spinner hubcaps. On the Gen 2 machines, there is a flat wheel flange, not unlike a car, that has three lug bolts extending out, and that wheel uses three nuts, again more similar to a car type lug nuts. Those are not cap nuts, but are standard nuts. They are covered by a hub cap. I may have some of those union bolts left from my spinner hubcap sales days. If anyone is interested, send me a PM.
