Hmm, that one's a .gif with a .ico extension, rather than a .ico.
IE doesn't much like that. There's a convoluted history there, according to Wikipedia.
Being curious as to what was going on, I converted it to a PNG-based ICO. IE seems to like it better.
I haven't tested it as an actual favicon -- too much trouble at this hour. But since I did the conversion, I'll share the result.
This should be otherwise equivalent to yours, Jim, including transparency.
