Hi

Much info is already covered.
But as a newbie, here's the overview.

Most i180s came with Li-ion ( extended range ) batteries.
Just a few were sold with the ( standard range ) NiMH batteries.

In either case these will be 10+ years old, and likely at end of life.

If you can locate another owner, or dealer nearby, try to temporarily fit their known good batteries to your i180.
If faults persist ( which is likely ) then your machine is history, sorry.
If faults vanish, then all you need is a fresh set of batteries.

Sadly, Segway discontinued all support for Gen 1 machines.
So what may have been an easy fix is no longer the case.
