Default It Was / Is Interesting

Turns out the prototype was in Seattle (at a mall) last Sunday right after I heard a marketplace article on the company. One hour wait to sit in it.

All-in-all has potential. Did not really take time to fully adjust seat and all . . . easy in / easy out, mirrors well placed, windshield slope not weird, could not see hood or front fenders , lots of head room, felt strange to have a window on my right with a steering wheel. Overall very first reaction . . . . I’m in a big sail plane cockpit.

In a mall setting with just people around it looks larger then one would expect, sure that changes when next to an F-250 4x4. Big unknown could be the engine as it’s a new design and they claim will be U.S. built. Did not sound as if engine prototypes were running; everything is still “in CAD” so real world dash layout/MPG/weight/engine are all to be seen.

Automatic will be a ‘manual shift option’ automatic like most newer ones these days. Production model will have 14-inch tires (proto had 15’s), production will have a small truck lid (proto none). Possible options; cruise control, auto, backup camera (no rear window). Flat fix standard . . . no spare planned.

As always everything you what to know will be available in 90 days. At least 5 people in line around me already had paid a deposit and a few did so after sitting in it.

As for me . . . . paid a deposit as well. Could be a fun ride between the near home SEG and long road trip car.

= = = Nearing 6,500 Segway miles in just under three years gliding = = =
