Colin, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but you are about 20 years late to the Segway “boom”, such as it was, and about 5 years late to the related “hoverboard” mania.

In 16 years of production, the original Segway machines never found enough markets to be profitable, and with redundant hardware for virtually every important system, they were very expensive. Newer Segs do not have such redundant systems, as far as I am aware.

I wish you good luck on your business venture. You might use the popularity of this forum (or lack thereof) as a part of your market assessment. I will paraphrase a quote of Steve Jobs to Segway inventor Dean Kamen: Are you sure you understand your market?
