The InfoKey has a battery gauge - You can watch it as you're riding to see how much power you've used and how much is left. No worry about it shutting down on you. Seg batteries are very robust and don't overheat, either when charging or riding. If the pair on the machine you're evaluating will go 10 miles and still show about halfway on the battery gauge, you'd be OK to buy that one
