Very cool!! This is Arduino based I assume yes? Is this something you’re planning to release as plans, or a product, or just a hobby?

And may I ask what some of the values are? Specifically SOC%?

I would love the ability to check a battery and estimate it’s useful life remaining based on charging capacity vs new... that would be quite useful
When looking at used units/batteries/etc.

SOC is state of charge, from 0% to 100%, this value is calculated by the BCM, my tool is only read, scale and display this value. All the values are provided from BCM aquisition interface, values are filtered and then stored into intenal registers readable via i square c network. Also U and I aquisition is doubled by analog inputs of the arduino board, values used on revive process, when i2c network not available during low voltage of batt and BCM not feeded.

The tool i developed mainly for my needs.
First i studied to by one from Germany, but was pretty expensive, then I start
to do reverse engineering by scanning all the addresses and sub-addresses of
the address 98 of the i2c network alocated to BCM.
Just scan, and what’s returning with ack are available registers, and skip ones with nack.
Identifying the registers wasn’t that hard.
Basically after a small research based on what i write upwords, anyone can do
such a project.

I think could make a cheap tool, with a arduino uno and a tft, to obtain
a small tool for quick test without revive/discharge options, with internal batts to work even on field where no power supply available.

I have acquired an i2 that I know no history on.
Having many questions, such as: how do I check the battery condition,
where can I purchase a left fender, and most important...
why is it trying to kill me?
Being a 60 year old waterman I wrongly assumed it would be simply a matter of powering my "i2" on, and off I go. (and OFF I went!)Â… repeatedly.
Surfing, skiing, sailing, skating, no problemÂ… Segway i2? Kite-surfing never
treated me so rough! sailing my Cat into the breakwater full speed didn't
even bung me up so bad. either I've "lost it" or am missing something fundamental. As with anything Being self taught leaves many gaping holes in your education. humbly looking for help before I admit my new toy beat me.

Not quite ready to throw in the towel.(or the bandages) I will read all I can,
and practice-practice-practice. Although purchased with intent to "flip"-
tenacity and ego preclude sale of this lil jewel til I've mastered it, broken it,
(or more likely, tested my new medical coverage) I don a brain bucket every time out. perhaps I'll try turtle mode today, and not try to out run the
vicious cur zeroing in on, and chasing me. (Can I go faster than 12.5mph?)

Stop and seek assistance.

Like any technical piece of equipment, a Segway novice user needs some training before they can use it properly and safely.
It's not that hard, but some folk need more training than others.

Is there a dealer, or another owner near to you, who can assist ?

If not send me an email, and I will send you a copy of the simple starter pack of instructions that we used with great success when we used to be a Segway dealer.

The Segway is a classic case of less is more..

Less input from yourself means more control..don't fight it, trust it not to let you fall.

I live in the SF Bay Area and would be happy to give you a lesson or two in riding Segways merely for the price of your company. Let me know if you're ever around the peninsula - I have an X2 and a Segway miniPro. I might head up to Concord in two or three weeks to evaluate a used i2 I'm looking at, but usually I stay down on the peninsula. Happy to look your machine over too, at least as far as kicking the tires and listening to the gearboxes.
