Segway Fault/Help please

Hi All,

Some great info on this site, thanks.
I need some help with an issue I'm having with one of my Segways. I have swapped a CU board to remove an error (E083A) but now my Segway wont start. No errors just a weird face and wont power on? Any one know what this is please or any resources that may help please?
I get a face with a smile but slit eye and just the warning triangle and exclamation mark. The Segway lights go through the start up sequence but then flash 6 times :-( .
Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

Ramsey.

CU Pair

I recall ( but cannot guarantee ) that the CU boards need to be a matched ( programmed ) pair.

If you replace just one, the you no longer have a matched pair.

Thanks Michael. I take it only Segway can program these to match as well :-(.
What I cant understand is that I had it working, put it back together and then got a E04A error. I swapped out the BSA unit and then got this error. So it looks like this error is unmatched pair possibly but why I got the original E04 Error who knows. Its a shame Segway arent more open to competent repairs as these are as simple as a dyson to replace parts for someone with electronic training and ability (or even without to a degree)

I now have it back in its original set up with a E04A error, any ideas :-(

Thanks

Rams

Hi Ramsey

Sorry, I can't do much more than sympathise.

For what it may be worth ..
I have heard that a few faults that appear to be a peripheral device, as per the error message, are not the actual peripheral but rather due to a poor loom or loom joint.
It can't hurt to take a close look at the BSA loom.
Slide the BSA connectors ( both ends ) on and off a few times.
Those connectors will wipe any oxidation off the pins.

Good luck.

Thanks all.
I still have a bit of tinkering to do before I get fleeced by Segway and have to send it to them or write off.

Great forum by the way :-)

Here is a thread about E04A:

https://forums.segwaychat.org/showth...highlight=E04a

Not to be blunt, but the meaning of the code is not as useful as one might hope - basically there is one code that means battery dead, one code that means too cold, and all the other codes mean 🤬🤬🤬.
