Quote:

quote:Popular Mechanics November 2002 - A Lift From Magnets - Trains that are suspended over their tracks by permanent magnets are getting off to a small start. In September, MegaRail Transportation Systems of Fort Worth, Texas unveiled a mockup of a 4-passenger car for its Micro-Rail system.

The technology differs from the permanent rail line developed at the Lawrence Livermore National Labratory, and featured in our May 1998 issue, in that it uses a fully enclosed track that can be switched at high speed. Developer Kirston Henderson has already installed a working 48-ft section of elevated track at its factory. Next stop: a fully operating prototype to show potential investors.
They may make it yet Lawrence.

Speaking of Pop-Sci..

I read a post somewhere on the internet that mentioned an article in this month's popular science about competition for the Segway HT. Something about a self-balancing motorcycle... I'll see if I can dig it up.

Anyone have this month's issue of Pop-Sci?

I get Popular Mechanics but not Popular Science. We did discuss an old gyro balanced cycle on TIQ months ago.
