Ninebot ES2 kickscooter issue

Hi everyone.

I have had my scooter for 2/3 weeks and the steering column has become wobbly at the base of the scooter. I was wondering if anybody owns an ES2 and has come across this problem?

Thanks

You probably should have someone pro look at that before your next ride.

appened to my first scooter, had too much fun with it so the front wheel came loose...

My ES2 got wobbly after a week aswell. It turned out that the two screws in the front was not firmly in place. After tightening those things were back to normal here.

hello,
i am having same problems. Bought ES2 in july. Got replaced by new one 2 times. The 3rd one will be sent back monday. All 3 having same issues : 1st one also had faulty motor & control board, but all 3 had problems with front fork and steering show huge amount of "play" or movement (meaning : when holding handle bar straight and not moving it, front wheel can move several degrees to the left & right side) .. this problem gets worse very quickly, (I checked all visible screwws and nuts and thightened them), but did not resolve problem, resulting in handle bar shaking, moving front & back, making huge noise when driving over little bump...
I am quite disapointed, this is really not what i expected when buying a product from a well known company...
Somebody knows what the issue can be ? seems important to know...
Thanks

Fix Before Warranty Runs Out!

Hi,
I had the same issue with loose and off-centered fork. I sent my ES2 to Ninebot us.com where I purchased through Amazon.com and repaired / returned with no more issues. Get fixed before warranty runs out.

Solution to the wobbling stem

I had this issue on my sons ES2, and found a solution. I designed and 3D printed a spanner which can be used to tighten the stem nuts without taking anything apart, as the one you need to tighten is recessed in the stem which makes access with a normal spanner impossible.

If anyone needs this I can provide the 3D printer file, or potentially print you one and provide some instructions.

There is a bit of a knack to doing it as you have to loosen the locking nut fully then tighten the nut beneath a bit at a time before backing up the locking nut as that gets turned at the same time, however its very easy and completely eliminated the play in the stem.

Full disclosure, I have not ridden the scooter yet but can feel the play is gone, the tool is not ultra strong as its 3D printed ABS so you can only really finger tighten the nut, although this seems enough, and you could probably break the tool if you tightened excessively.
