Parkinsons Disease and Insurance for a HT

I am a new owner with advanced Parkinsons Disease. I have tremors and a little difficulty with balance. When I went in for a demo, I could sense fear in the salesmans eyes. Fear not, it went better than some without my condition.. I now can rejoin the world of walkers and join my wife and daughter on shopping trips and not be a burden or the source of "oddity" stares due to Parkinsons. It is wonderful. Next, how and who insures he HT's and as hatm A motorcycle orwhat??? thank you JR

Wonderful that you can partake of the good life! I insure my Segway with Progressive as they have created a special policy for it. I pay around $150.00 a year for max coverage. other people pay anywhere from $60 to $200 depending on coverage and location. State farm also insures Segways. Buy it ASAP.................

Great story JR miller, and welcome to Segwaychat!

I read awhile back how Parkinsons tremors are reduced on a Segway, rather than amplified. I'm fascinated to know if that is really the case with you.

Congratulations and enjoy!

I insure mine with State Farm, as a separate recreational vehicle policy. $90 a year gets me a good deal on coverage.

Great input JR. I enjoy hearing those stories more than anything else on here. I got mine (from NEVrland) yesterday and am frustrated at the moment due to mechanical problems assembling it.....shaft wont seat all the way into the bottom unit due to the clamps sticking out to0 far and wont retract.......but that is the beside the point.

I had a lady friend drop by yesterday who has Parkinsons and I am going to give her a copy of your story......great. Our daughter teaches Special Ed and herself has MS and I have an athritic condition which precludes me walking very far. I am sure it will be great for a lot of us with mobility problems.

In the meantime if anyone reading this has a solution to the assembly problem it would be appreciated.....very frustrating to have it sitting there all charged up and cannot ride it quite yet. I wonder if I take that allen bolt clear out if the wedges will come loose and I can see what the problems is quickly and get them back together!!

I'd say to get the allen bolt farther out. I had a similar problem, and that was the solution.
