Sorry if you've posted this informaton elsewhere but how did you obtain the replacement harness, did you just order it from Segway? I think having a database of diy solutions is great (better still would be if Segway produced a workshop manual but being in the US I understand the unfortunate liability issues you all have to live with). Failing that, a diy manual would really extend the economic life of the older machines

The "replacement" harness is from the broken handlebar.

The other harness is now an extra

so..

Anyone tried to convert an i180 handlbar to hypertronics? the white connectors are a different size.

eJM 03-30-2007 11:06 PM

Can someone point me to an explanation of hypertronics and what the difference is from my i180?

Thanks,

Jim

Now that my glide has suffered the destruction of handlebars at the hands of a drunk (not me thank you), I will be making an elcon to hypertronics adapter as soon as I can aquire my new parts. Once tested and true I will offer pics, how to's and where-to-buys.

Hi Jim,

The difference astheticaly is a round black connector versus a white rectangular one resembling a 5v motherboard connection to the power supply on a PC. From everything I have determined so far, it is a matter of pinouts but I have to check amperage and be 100% certain before I will test things on my glide.
