Beaches and Trails
In the last month I spent two weeks at the beach with my segway providing transportation through soft sand and speeding over the hard sand close to the water. Never a problem. Haven't been able to see those things in five years due to severe mobility limitations. Then one week to the Arizona hills, riding around the paved trails on the Grand Canyon Rim, Petrified Forest and Painted Desert. Maybe more importantly also on an easy unpaved (mountain bikers type) trail (Shultz Creek Trail) near Flagstaff in the San Franscisco Peaks. One must be careful in going around rocks or going over the low ones, but never had a problems-never even off of the Segway for two miles. Steepness is not a problem-just rocks and roots warrant caution. Lesson. Go for it. It is amazing what the machine permits and the opportunities it opens or reopens. |
Herman,
Thrilled to hear the Seg is improving your mobility. Fred |
Across sand...that's very impressive ! I haven't seen too many wheelchairs capable of that
