Any news on when the new hauler will be available or if those of us with the original hauler will be able to retrofit our units? Has anyone done a "modification" to the old hauler to carry the new HT?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Although I still have my original i167, I really would like to haul my i180 when I go on the road - it is not just the new batteries or the colored fenders - I have become addicted to the particular sound that my new HT makes as I move down the sidewalk! Also, I have noticed that my riding style is different on the two machines: I subconciously lower my speed on the i167 and go for broke on the i180 - I guess it has to do with my knowing about the range difference, but it happens automatically.

See this thread for comments on modifications of older hauler.

I did see a message on the DRAFT site that forum member legpain had drilled out the two rivets and added an extension plate with good results.

I know what you mean about the difference in sound - the i180 is smoother, quieter, and has less backlash than the i167.

Segway - What's holding you up?

Talked to a Segway representative said they are about two weeks away that was on Wednesday. I have not returned my RMA one and took a hard look at having a welding shop modify that one but I will wait. Still trying to attach trailer hitch to car requires heavy lifting, drilling 1/2 inch holes in frame, etc so the two weeks is OK.
I have a standing order for two one for car and one for pickup as hitch sizes are different.
Hope this helps.
