After much deliberation, I have decided to go with my gut and heart. A P series will now be the latest addition to my I series. Arriving next week.

Thank you for all your help.

As many of you have said: having 2 Segways (with friend to glide with) is a ton of fun!

Congratulations! You'll love the "p". It's a different ride than the i, but it's a lot of fun. I really like it for it's ability to get into really tight spaces without difficulty.

The best of both worlds! Congrats! Let us know if you ever get to Chicago. There aren't that many of us around these parts, but we always enjoy meeting new friends.

SwedishFish,

Believe me, I know you're excited, but...

please, PLEASE, Puh-Lease fully condition the batteries before use!!!

It is truly an exercise in self-restraint, but you'll be happy you did!

Peace,

Jared,

Thanks for the reminder, but I'm fully aware of the importance of conditioning the batteries.

Ricebro, here is a great reference document to battery conditioning:

I can't wait!

Ricebro,

Proper conditioning of the batteries assures that you get the best range and longest life out of your batteries.

Generally, you'll want to charge your machine a full 8-12 hours before ever turning it on. Then, for the first five uses or so, run the machine two bars down and then allow a full recharge in between.

This does not apply to the new LiIon batteries, however SwedishFish has a p133, so we know that he as the NiMH batteries.

Peace,

I thought I'd add my two cents here.

This is a link that I haven't seen on the chat in a while:

a great battery reference.
