Sometimes I get zapped from the crack in the steering grip. It's usually while going over a wooden bridge.

This thing rules.

Why are you holding on to your crack?
That is not the suggested way of steering a Segway.

They make crack spackle for plumbers (to correct for alarming cheek clevage)

Perhaps Drol can take solace in the same place as the top of a blue collar tusch.

Sorry Drol but you left yourself wide open on that wording. I could have kept it up but enough's enough.
It appears no one has run into this situation before. You may try contacting LLC.
May I ask what the relative humidity is in your locale. I'm in a dry area and I occasionally get static shocks when I get out of my car.

Droll,

Just keep it zipped and you won't get zapped.

This whole thread sound like Dr. Seus:

I have a Seg that seldom sags
I have a Seg that zaps on cracks
So when I zip the Seg while yapping
I crack a joke about it zapping

I suppose it is possible that hand placement and the coating on the handlebar assembly is part of the answer...

I do recall that there is a an electrically conductive undercoating on the paint of the handlebar, and if the two screw mounts (on underside of handlebar assy are shorted to the terminals in the key port, an emergency shutdown will happen...

If you are riding and making a contact to an exposed portion of this coating with your hand, you may be completing some sort of circuit.

I cannot fathom what the wooden bridge has to do with it...
