View Full Version : Locking of "zoinks" thread, censoring of posts.

I know we have to ride herd on the personal attack posts here, because of history on other sites. The "zoinks" thread has been locked, and so far there's no explanation. I know that a poster called Meehawl1, presumably Mike Rogers, has been posting on that thread, and his posts have since disappeared and the thread locked.

Two suggestions:

When a thread is locked for moderation reasons, can we PLEASE have a moderator post at the bottom WHY it was locked, what rules of conduct the thread was violating, so that we can all react as a community to the way we maintain ourselves in the forum.

When a user's posts are DELETED, as Meehawl1's were, can we please have a reiteration of the exact terms of violation. Warnings would also be good before posts are deleted.

Censorship can be arbitrary and capricious. An unmoderated board, on the other hand, is something I'm sure none of us wants.

Moderation can be a two-way communication, and I think it should be.

Other thoughts?
