Please join us in celebrating the first group to take a Segway HT across America!!
For the last three months or so, Hunter Weeks, Josh Caldwell, Alon Waisman, Gannon Weeks, and Rose Kontak have been taking a Segway HT from Seattle to the East Coast. They are creating a documentary and have named their expedition "America at 10 mph;" using the Segway HT as a medium to travel from one place to another and interact with people along the way.
As of today, they've logged 3665 miles and have changed batteries 372 times. On Thursday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. it all comes to end right here at Segway LLC headquarters. We expect that the team will secure, after verification, a Guinness Book World Record for the longest journey on a Segway HT.
Eat cake, drink warm cider!
We'll have cake and warm apple cider for you to enjoy during a presentation of gifts ceremony and remarks by Doug Field, Klee Kleber and members of the "America at 10 mph" team.
Date: November 18, 2004
Time: 2:00 pm
Location: Segway LLC Headquarters
14 Technology Dr., Bedford NH 03110
