Jimmy,

Are you doing hourly rentals? What kind of training and competency are you requiring for the rentals?

Is this being done with LLC's blessings, or just another NYC rouge operator? Itsi, let us know what's going on...

Pete here!
Who cares if LLC is blessing this or not!
Trust me they don't care....they only want to sell Segways!
They view the rental industry purely as commercial customers that have purchased multiple units. This attitude needs to be changed and that's one of the primary reasons I'll be in Bonita Springs.

from the link to the website, it would appear that they are an authorized llc dealer.

It never ceases to amaze me that every time a new sales or rental location announces, a lot of naysayers seem to jump on the bandwagon and try to disparage them without having any real knowledge of the operation. I remember early on when a lexus dealership started to offer segways for sale and you would think that they had committed a mortal sin.
I agree that it is important that all of these places put their best foot forward (particularly in areas like NY where there is no law written yet), but I think everyone should be given a chance.

imo opinion, llc doesn't seem to have any interest in segway rentals or tours other than the free publicity they get which can result in a renter or tourer buying one.

It was my understanding that operating the HT anywhere in NY was currently illegal. I was just curious if LLC was condoning the operation in this state.

I am not authorized by LLC, but that is not necessary. I am not trying to be a nay-sayer, there are just a number of potential problems operating a commercial business without the necessary permits...

we are an authorized Segway dealer, we will be doing hourly and daily rentals, training will be included. Rates have yet to be determined but we should have them posted on our site in a week or so.

The rational of LLC opening up a dealer in a state that currently prohibits the HT use and rentals surpirses me. Am I alone out there in my thinking? Oh, I get it now; it's not illegal to sell or rent the HT in NY, only to use them...

I still get stopped on a regular basis, the only thing that allows me to continue to glide is my disability Metro card.
