Ad expirations

Just wondering if perhaps there should be an automatic deletion of items listed for sale after 30 days. I see some pretty old posts on here advertising things that have been sold.

I think the ads should stay. I believe several items have been sold after 60 days of no action once they were posted, so time is relative to that success. The ads are also a microcosm of history and are valuable to those who seek information on the HT over time. That elevates them to a status of better than trash, but not so worthy as current ads.

How about a little cgi script that inserts a disclaimer indicating the offering may be out of date due to being over 90 days old? Maybe a separate one that emails the poster requesting an update?
