Hi Guys,

Here's a cool toy you can buy for your own kids, or other kids you might like to buy neat stuff for. (Actually I wouldn't mind buying one for myself, though I do have 2 preschool aged kids who might think it's pretty fun as well)

The Astro-blaster is a series of balls, joined together on a stick. When you drop them, the top ball can bounce up to 5 times the original dropping height. The principle is similar to what happens when a Super Nova explodes !

Maybe there's some other cool, Science related 'toys' which you've seen on the Web...

Here's a poor man's version of the Astroblaster using a basketball and a tennis ball. (This version is often demonstrated in college physics courses). There's a movie in this link which shows the tennis ball 'blasting off', due to the large force of the basketball bouncing.

p.s. Fortunately the Astroblaster is pretty inexpensive..$5.00

Thanks Broo :)

There are so many great toys out there these days for kids to learn from. I'm pushing 40 ( I know for some that's old and for others that seems young ). Anyways, I'd always like to try to keep young at heart as much as possible and always enjoy the thrill of learning new things. Science is fascinating to me...it's sort of like the old idea of truth being stranger, (or more interesing) than fiction.

I'd love to hear about some other cool 'toys', if anyone else comes across them in your internet travels !
