That is very cool?

You made that yourself?

Yes-the unit was made by our fab shop and painted by our paint shop. It's really extended my utilization of the segway. It takes less that a minute to load up. Incidentally, the ramps have non-skid surfaces and the shaft lock has an inner to prevent scratching the shaft. Our main products are equipment for yachts and motor homes (www.headhunterinc.com).

That's the nicest carrier I've seen so far.

I don't need one now as I have a pick up, but when I change vehicles, that will be a must for my next minivan.

For whomever concerned, this looks like a good one. I have the aluminum one by Medexpress. It ramps up from the right side and the weight shifts to the left side making it want to twist to the left. Ramping from the rear would balance the weight left to right. I should have waited. The only advantage of the Medexpress one is you can ramp up and down from the curb, which is not a concern in a community of 1300.

This thing is great. When I get a Seg, this will be one of the first accessories I get for it. Second only to an HID headlamp system. It looks very secure. Security would be one of my main concerns while toting a $5000 machine on the back of my truck while going 65mph.

This looks like a great design - well thought out and implemented.

What I would really love to see in the way of a 'ramp' is something that works like a stretcher in an ambulance. Collapsed you could just roll the Seg on to it. Then it springs up to its full height and you roll the Segway into your trunk.

Then, collapse the 'stretcher' and put it in the car.

It seems a really logical way of doing things.

The think that worries me about an outside mount carrier is that I will back it into something (I have a tight turn at work and need every inch.
Also, my garage on just fits my Jeep and with the carrier on the back I wouldn't be able to close the garage door.

The other think that worries me about a rear carrier is that I carry all sorts of stuff in my trunk (in addition to the Segway) amd I couldn't access the space in the back.

Can anyone think of a way to create a loader based on the stretcher model?

We have a simple ramp system that can be used pretty easily.

we have a new model that lets you access your trunk while the segway is on the vehicle. It wont stretch your garage, buts it's lighter than a stretcher, and one person manage it easily--weighs bout 40 lbs. e-mail me if you's like more info.
