17 Oct Glitch? Thanks for fixing it quickly

Just curious - what caused the forum to be unusable this morning? How hard was it to bring it back up? Did you have to go back to a previous save or were all active posts preserved?

It is interesting that we have become so used to 7/24 access to the site, that when it is down, even for a little while, one can feel "disconnected from their community" I think that emotional reaction, which I am sure happened all over the country this morning, is a tribute to how well you guys have built and nurtured this community.

Hi Peter,

Sorry about the downtime. There was a problem with the database (nothing was lost!) and we're back in business. It wasn't difficult to bring the site back up.. it's just one of those "don't panic" situations ;)
