I have recently read a number of articles about cyber-begging.
I am fortunate. I do not need a lot. I do, however, need a Segway Human Transport and without the generosity of others there is no way I will ever be able toget one ( maybe 5-10 years from now when they are inexpensive like DVD players)

I ownder if perhaps a group shall be formed someday that will provide Segways free of charge to disabled persons. Guide dogs are provided free to the blind and visually impaired, and are worth over $20,000 each. I am also hopeful that an organization will be set up to provide easy access to the IBOT for those who need it.

Oh, I am certain there will be such efforts, just as there are now for wheelchairs, etc.. One must, of course, be truly needy. Regarding the cyber-begger (above) he has just plain envy for one. That's not a disability.

Awhile ago I noted that www.buymeasegway.com wasn't yet registered. I, unlike this guy, was joking.

And they say Segway users are lazy....

Well, I appreciate the replies and the support. I can report that I have not (yet) raised any money in support of my cause.

I can report that CNN has done yet another stoory on cyber-begging and I, alas, was not featured.

There's alsways hope.

Your enthusiasm for Segway HT is certainly appreciated around here. However, why do you want one for free? Wouldn't you enjoy it more knowing that you earned it through your own hard work?

The engineers of Segway LLC worked many long hours to make this device possible, and they deserve to be compensated. Others who may buy the product work long hours so that they may afford it. Is it the working part that you aren't interested in? I invested in stocks and did odd jobs like balancing accounts and doing taxes to earn my Segway. Maybe I should just have them send it to you instead.

Do you live on welfare, too?

(Why am I even wasting my time on this...)
