I contacted Mike Shubic a while back, seems to have been a falling out between partners. Their assets are slim: the Segways are gone, they have several domain names, a little bit of operations equipment and a business plan with contacts and an S corporation as a basis for an investor to walk in and begin anew. A diamond in the rough for someone in the area.

I talked to them a while back, and I got the impression that safety was possibly secondary to the 'quick buck'. They didn't require their customers to wear a safety helmet during the rental. You are asking for eventual problems if you don't place the customer's well being first. I don't know how their insurance company (if they even had it)would have not required it. It is sad when any Segway related company has to close it's doors.
