Hi All.

Sleepy and I are planning to glide around San Francisco this Sunday. The SF Grand Prix is happening (bicycle race with Lance and several other big bicycle riders). Is anyone else interested in joining us?

Hellooooo... is anybody out there? :)

I guess it's very short notice for most people. But Jon's getting his Seg today and wants to try it out around the town. I'm probably going to head over to the Golden Gate after the glide on Sunday to do some schmoozing with the park rangers to allow our Bay Area SEG Golden Gate Glide.

what time are you guys gonna be there? and where? I might head up if I can track you guys down. This heat wave is great Segging weather, not so many 'lazy' comments, more true envy from the weather weary peds! Maybe we can give a heat exhausted cyclist a lift! ;)

Excellent Steve!

Here's a course map...

Looks like the mens race starts at 11:00. How about we meet on the corner of Columbus and Broadway at 11?

Let me know if that sounds good. Also, I'll send you my cell # so that we can find each other more easily...

Sorry I miissed you guys, hope you had a good glide, I was up at broadway for awhile then headed down near the embarcadero smoothly negotiating the crowded boardwalk with bikes peds bladers strollers, etc., Saw one Segger near Spear and Folsom who zoomed by before I could chat, and I'd already stowed my HT.
Got mostly good response, most people had never seen the HT before. Gave a quick test ride to two of San Francisco's Finest! Only two negative comments all day! one from a self appointed sidewalk ban enforcer in the financial distrect who yelled at me from across the street to stay off the sidewalk so I hopped into the street, and from one militant competitor sponsored by SportsBook.com who said sidewalks are for walking even though I wasn't on the sidewalk at the time. Wanted to tell him the internet is for education communication and research and Las Vegas is for gambling, but didn't think of it until later! Tried to engage him but his mind was made up and I didn't waste my time!

Well, I watched some of the bike race today to see if y'all were within camera range, but to no avail.

See y'all on the 20th!

Hey Steve,
Sorry we missed you! We were at the corner of Columbus and Broadway until around noon or so. They we glided over to the Taylor St hill. The strangest thing happenned there-- Jon and I were standing on the hill watching the race and Jon told me to turn around... the lady directly behind me was wearing a "SEGWAY" t-shirt!!! She'd been to a ticket to ride event in SJ and got to ride a Seg there!

We got mainly positive comments. But I overheard a few people saying to eachother that Segs are a waste of money and stupid. But no one directed any negative comments directly at us.

We respectfully rode on sidewalks, with several policemen around-- no problem. I think they have better things to do with their time than ticketing resposible Segway riders.

See you guys next week!

Hey Steve,

Yeah, sorry we missed you. We were looking all the while we were there - must have been in totally different areas of the corner there.

See you next weekend!
