The tradeoffs of battery chemistry are far more complicated than "LTO > LiFePo4 > Li-ion NMC", but to simplify things a little bit:
Lithium Titanate (LTO) batteries can withstand being punctured under water without exploding?!? And retain most of their power in very cold and very hot climates?
