I blame Segway for this piece of 廢物. I mean, who wants a bike where you stand up and steer by leaning?

Yet another horrible product from my city of Tucson.
Next thing they'll come up with is waterless pools.

Why a stick and not a handle bar???? Looks like if you fell you would get impaled !

But creative..... with the hills and mountains around here sure would need a lot of gears....

Seems like a very high center of gravity on a very small platform to me.

Also, looks like a marginally acceptable possibility if you like it, and happen to have a long commute on a perfect surface like a running track.

I can imagine what a sharp turn on a crumbly road shoulder or bike lane would look like. My guess is, not pretty.

Still, if people want it, I wish them luck. If they make a product that they like, and others like it too, good for them. I do not begrudge anyone any luck for success, even if I do not see a place for that device in my future...

While it certainly seems, um, doubtful...

The bikes I rode as a kid, I generally had to stand to go up hills or accelerate quickly. Even when I got a 3-speed, I stood a lot.

And EVERY bike, you steer by leaning, when you stop and think about it. Certainly, that's what you do when you ride without hands, and when you do use your hands, you just have a few more options about coordinating it, but in the end, if you don't match your lean and turn, you fall over.

Even so...

The one clever bit here is using a chain drive to the front. But that just buys you the ability to take a kid's tricycle and turn it into something you have to stand to ride. I'm not sure in what universe that's a step forward.

But it might be fun! People don't ride unicycles because they're better than bikes. They ride them because they're worse. I won't try to judge the fun factor. Apparently 85 people think it's worth putting money into it after just three days. I guess that must be fun, too.
