Okay guys, now that we have the new Flash-based SC-L! installed, and it's been in use for a while, there are a few points I need to make to the community.
First off, kudos to Frank for rigging up this new system! He threw his own cash into the new Live! in order to customize it for our needs.
Next, everybody has been actually showing up! I'd like to say how pleased I am with the turnout now that people can see what the occupancy in the room is.
Tip #1! When you're leaving the room, don't just close the window. Use the Exit button on the Menu to log out and close the session. Otherwise, you leave a "ghost" inside the room that is confusing for the chatters in the room, and a nuisance for you if you try to come back within 10 or so minutes. Moral of the story - use the exit button!
Tip #2! You might notice that when you're sending messages into the chat room, they don't appear as fast as they usually do. This is called "lag" and is fairly common. Chances are that the message made it, but your computer isn't seeing any updates from the server. So to fix this, just hit F5 while you're in the chatroom, and it will reload the chatroom, alleviating the "lag" condition. If there was lag, the messages you missed will now be shown in the room, otherwise it will be blank and you can continue as before.
