You know what I particularly like about it? The fact that the screw/bolt to the control shaft is hidden from the casual observer. That said, how easy is it to remove if we need access to remove the CS for a hard reboot? Does it take up a lot of foot territory? It doesn't look like it does. A definite thumbs up, Wayne.

Not a bad idea Wayne. It wouldn't fit on mine as I use a 1/2" copper pipe to support my kickstand. This is designed to fit with your flat bar kickstand. I'd rather see something similar to fit the BC Carrier or to mount higher up on the front of the handlebar.

Pam,

You have to remove the shaft to slide the carrier on. Right now it has no bolts or screws holding it in place. The way it is made when the control shaft is installed the carrier get tighter.
You have plenty of room to install the screw to the control shaft.
When I have the finished product it will have a lock on the door. Still some detail work left to do on it.

Here is a daytime photo of carrier on my Seg.

Lohja,

I think even with your kickstand it would work. I still have some room between my kickstand and the carrier.

Wayne, pretty soon your Segway is not going to look like a Segway at all! =)

Fear not, for even though I come from the Forbidden City, I surely do not agree with the rules.

Neelix,

It only looks like this when I'm comimg from the house. Most of the time I only have the two side carriers only. I will leave the new mini carrier on, it is going to come in handy for the cable lock, power cord, allen wrenches and my headlight when of if I need any of these items. I'll probably stop using the front bag completely now.

I know you are having a ball with your new Seg, it's really fun the first week.

looks great. I would be more interested in this carrier for the Seg tools etc, than the carrier over the fender. terrific idea. keep on going...........

When people fall off the Segway, don't they sometimes jump off forward, straddling the control shaft? Seems like in some situations, this carrier might hold your feet back while your body flies forward, thereby flipping you. What do you think, Wayne?

Hubbah,

I try my best to not fall. Falling when turning, the fender is in the way.

Wayne I like the flip top carrier. Looks like you have a customized glider. I've had an extra set of fenders for more than a month to have painted, but as of yet I have done nothing to them. Still looking for the right painter and color.

Glidemaster,

You may want to look into what I did for my Seg.
Check out "Color your Seg" at segway stuff or go to www.kcaps.com/segway.html and look at mine.
This is cheap and easy to do.

Who's falling off the Segway? After about 200 miles this have never happened. How many people have you seen fall off?

It was my impression that almost everyone who owns one has fallen (or jumped off) once or twice. No?

All of this stuff really makes it hard to make a decision, even for a GlideMaster. I've got this extra set of fenders just waiting for me to make a decision.

I'd get more fenders and get one of each. Or, get some from Wayne. You can change them every three months to match the season. I do like the red-white-and-blue ones. They are good in all seasons.

Hey Wayne How's it goin. I like the colored decals for the fenders alot. Could it also be done using colored heat shrink plastic also? I think what would really set things off with the colored fenders is to have the wheels colored with the same color all as one center decal as I mentioned once before. I think wheels the same color as the fenders and shaft would be a great improvement. You said you were comtemplating it. Still thinking about it? I noticed that the upper shaft isn't colored. Is this because the decals would prevent you from raising and lowering the shaft?

I like the mini-carrier also. You want suggestions so here I go with some more. I think maybe if you could raise the bottom inside level without raising the face front would be an idea to consider it would give more room for the feet under it without them being seen from the front. I also think if you could maybe wrap the front around to each fender would make it more appealling, so to speak. After you showed your newest kickstand design I got to thinking that maybe a two legged kickstand would be great in the fact two legs are better than one. Suppose if your one kickstand started sinking in soft ground. With two there would be less chance of that. So I thought that a spring loaded bar connecting both sides of each kickstand. Press down on the bar and both kickstands deploy. Follow me? Now that I've seen your new mini-carrier I think that it could be designed to mount onto the front of the carrier. You know, so that it would slide straight down the front. I even thought that a cover plate connecting across to both kick stands approximately an inch off the ground level would make it look more integrated. Your mini-carriers look like they are padded. Are they? Perhaps it could also be colored the same as the shaft, fenders (and wheels)?

I have two questions now.
Is the kickstand still accessible with the mini-carrier mounted to the front?

Well darn, I just had a senior moment, I just forgot what the second questions was. :) Anyway heres some more ideas.. Now with the mini-carrier you could possiby mount the lights in the base if you wanted to, couldn't you? That wasn't the second question, btw. I hope my suggestions are helping you.

O.K. I just thought of the second question. With your new improved kickstand, can it be mounted with your BC carriers already attached? Can the kickstand and the BC carriers be integrated into one piece? Or have I asked you this question before?

Well, just curious as to what you think of my suggestions. Good luck.

G-Ken,

There are all types of possibilities with the set-ups.
Yes, you could make the kickstand attached to the side carrier. If you did not want to use the side carrier sometimes and removed it you would not have a kickstand. As it is now the kickstand will fit any Segway with or without the side carriers.

Kickstand is accessible with the mini carrier in place.

Yes, lights could be mounted in the mini carrier.

I think the double kickstand is overkill.

If someone wants a set of Custom Color Decals for the fenders and shaft we will offer the wheel decals that will match.

The mini carrier is not padded (could be) and for some colors it could be matched close to the fender and shaft decals. This is even true with a front bag.

Check www.kcaps.com (click on segway stuff) this summer for more Segway Accessories.
