After years of lurking I finally did "it".
The x2 is sitting in my garage for 2 hours now.
The first 0.6 miles across the lawn/garden - kids involved.
Lots of FUN. More later - it's dark here now.
:D

Welcome. Have fun, keep smiling...

I have fond memories of your area, and that lake dating back to 1980...

Thanks for the welcome.

Did the first offroad tour in the morning...and had my first "forced descent" from the x2 going a steep hill up and hitting some loose gravel/rocks. Both wheels spinning and ...voila!

Nothing happend to me or the SegWay but I know a little better about the limits now :D

Is a good feeling to glide around.

Everybody is watching me in "awe" on the Segway here - not too many around!

It looks like you may completely recharge those batteries getting back to that village...

Wonderful picture. Thanks for posting it. Makes me long for the mountains again, but my wife is a flatlander...

In fact, I took the picture half way up! When I arrived at my "destination" up the mountain the battery was still half full!
:D
After 4 miles and going up >1650 feet in height at an average of 10 mph!

Hi Viper,

The Woz Challenge Cup is in the weekend after MAMS. So theoretically it's possible to be at both events.

I will be present at both events, so see you in Steyr and perhaps also in Cologne.

P.S.: depending on when you drive by my place (Lake Chiemsee, 1 hour southeast of Munich) we can drive together to Steyr!?

I have no clue how Olaf will be driving, if I'm not mistaken Olaf has already a travel plan for the polo players and me.

That is one part you don't really need. ;) I know most other conveyances don't have them...

It must be nice to have your life back in balance again...:D

Yep!

But the X2 feels different now. Drivingwise.
Cant explain better than it feels "wobbly"...(spongy?)...

Having experienced the "wobble" for some days I decided to take off the stearing frame/bar...
I found residue of tape and dirt and already marks between the related parts down there!
See the pics!
I cleaned all the parts and assembled the LSF...much better again!

I notice you are using a ball-end wrench. This is a recipe for a marred bolt head. People with experience will tell you to use a regular square head wrench instead.

I agree that a flat head (or square cut end to the hex wrench) is a far superior tool.

I have several sets of hex wrenches that have a ball on the long end, which has a short handle, so very little torque, and a flat head on the short end, which has a longer handle for greater torque. I believe that this arrangement is with a purpose, and if you have a tight bolt, or want to tighten the bolt, you will naturally need to use the flat short end so that the longer handle will help to give you the leverage you need...
