Went looking at Segways 2 weeks ago to see if they might be a viable ride for my wife who suffers from MS (she can stand and walk some, but can't really walk much distance)...anyway, from the title of this posting - you know we concluded that she would get a lot out of a segway :D

Anyway, the original thought was she'd use hers to glide along with me on hikes/walks. We did an 8 mile walk through the NW corner of Seattle where we live last Sunday morning using the demo model from the dealership to see how it would work for my wife. During that walk, it became apparent that it was going to quickly turn into her gliding and me jogging/running behind her like some kind of lackey following royalty on foot...so, we concluded that an X2 would be a nice second one to have so she could use that when we go on trails/backroads and I'll use whichever one she isn't using when we glide together.;)

We also have a "segvator" being built (I'm told it will be ready in a week or two) so my wife can load the segway on the car by herself...

Anyway - glad to see this chat site is active - looking forward to making some of your acquaintances!

Welcome Roland - You are going to have so much fun!
Is there a place to rent Segs in Seattle? My wife and I are going to be there this summer and would love to rent some?

Hi Bill,

I believe these guys will rent them to you, but I see on their website that you need to rent them in groups of 4: http://www.glideusa.com/rent/personal.aspx

The dealership (http://www.vespaseattle.com) rents their demo model out (only have one) during their closed days only (Sunday/Monday - you pick up on Saturday afternoon and return on Tuesday morning). That's all I know about for rentals in Seattle.
