Eric Payne: They were more than willing to work with the insurance company handling my claim to put me on a rental, but the insurance company demanded they accept as payment the same payment the insurance company would make to a rental car outfit. I realize it simply couldn't be done, and the insurance company involved and I have reached an alternative settlement for "lost use" time of Gilligan.

Hello Phoenix, After much stress and too many deadlines we made it a little worse for the wear, but we are in the valley of the sun. The garage is still full of boxes waiting to be unpacked. After 15 years of not owning a car we bought a 2002 VW GTI GLS 1.8 turbo, hatchback just big enough to stow one Segway. At first I thought I wanted to get a minivan or a Pacifica, but one visit to the gas pumps changed my mind. The VW should get fair mileage as long my chronic heavyfootitist doesn’t relapse.
Since I am new to the valley I will leave the who, where and when to the locals to decide. I just hope it doesn’t rain Like every meeting in New York. I am free almost every day except this coming weekend the 11th, 12th and 13th .
In the early days of our monthly meetings of SegNYC we met on the 4th of every month, it didn’t always work but it tried to keep things fair. I hope we can together sooner then next month..
I thing I found to be important if plan on attending please post your intentions.
What we usually tried to do, without much success was go for a glide, then find a near by seg friendly, inexpensive restaurant for some food and Segway B.S.
When a place is decided upon please give an address so my GPS can guide me in.
I am looking forward to making new friends and hope we get a good turn out.
