March 13, 2003 - adn.com -- The controversy that has surfaced over a sidewalk transportation device has reignited the debate over whether the new brand of electric vehicles is safe for aging baby boomers.
The Segway Human Transporter, a self-balancing electric scooter that the rider stands on and uses to travel on the sidewalk, became legal in most of California this month under a law that allows self-balancing two-wheel drive devices, officials said.
