The price is a bit high; however, to fill my compulsion to be the first, I'm biting the bullet.

Perhaps, if 5 or more of us can get together, we CAN get them less than you'd think. Who has a commercial umbrella we can bulk purchase a Segways under?

Right now Segway is trying to sell to companies that might want maybe five or more. I think they are trying to test it in commercial settings first. Plus since the I and E models will cost more than the public model they will make more money. You hit it on the head. If you have that commercial umbrella I'm sure the company could probably purchase them.

What unit price would we be looking at if we pooled money for an order of 5 units?

Well 4seg, it seems like you've got three people; you need four to get the bulk rate. You've got Blinky, Weskifm, Ftropea, and yourself. Do keep us updated :).

Sorry for being away for so long. I have taken a sharp interest in the stock market. (gotta pay for the Segway some how, huh?) Actually, looks like I'm close to a purchase. hmmmm. now where did I put that corporate umbrella? I just saw it the other day... :D

As much as I would like to be one of the first Segway owners, unfortunatly, I do not have 5K to spare right now. But I'll be first in line for the p series :D .

You guys don't think there would be any problems with buying a Segway-HT from a different state other than your own, with the fact that almost every other state has different legislation? Some states none.

I believe you have a valid concern and also believe legislation and liability is the exact reason why LLC hasn't released IT.

That sounds about right. With that in mind, it will be even more interesting to find out the answer to my question. I wonder how much longer it going to take to get the remaining 18 states to wrap it up with their final legislation.

I would like to also add, even if Segway does decide to do regional testing around the United States, it probably won't take long for it to get into full steam.

Segway is going to be huge.
