Last Sunday my wife and I took the Segway tour of Dijon, France. As a provincial French town and the captial of the Dukes for Burgandy it is small but has more than its fair share of wonderful buildings and sites.

The Tourist Office provides two possible tours, the city and the parks. We opted for the parks and the river/canal. Of course restrained to the tortoise mode progress was leisurely but none the worse for that.

It wasn't without incident though, one of the other participants, a French lady, managed to get the left wheel of her Segway blocked on a step at the entrance to a house. The Segway had no problem with that but the left wheel went up and she went over. Definitely not the Segway's fault, but the leader of the tour looked visably shocked, clearly it had never happened before.

Apart from that I would thoroughly recommend it.

Paris tour in four weeks time, can't wait

I did this tour with my family in May 2005. The tour is relatively inexpensive (15 Euro) and not too long (about 1 hour). I definitely recommend it to anyone who plans on visiting the mustard capital of Bourgogne.
