I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using a CF plug-in GPS with an HP type IPaq PDA. I have an hx4700 and would like to use it as a GPS on my Seg.

I tried doing a search but three characters is evidendly not enough for a search on the forum.

Thanks in advance.

I've used both a CF and Bluetooth GPS with my 5550 in a car. I have a mount that provides power to the HP and amplifies the sound. This setup works great in a car

I never mounted it on my Seg because of the power problem. The HP doesn't run on batteries long enough to make it usefull, in my opinion.

I have instead mounted an old StreetPilot III on my handlebar guard. It gets about a days use on a set of batteries plus you can carry an extra set of batteries.

Thanks, I thought power might be an issue.

There are a number of devices that you can plug into the iPaq that will extend the battery life. I have a 2 D cell box that will plug into the iPaq and a 4 AA cell box that does the same. The size and extra junk to carry just made them unmanageable for me.

Good luck
