This thing - The SEGVATOR ( Segway Elevator) is really well thought out. The fact that it will handle any HT including the XT make it extremely versatile. You might have to remove the Golf Club Bag, however.

The SEG COVER from SEGWAY INC Will Not fit over a 12.0 Front Cargo Bag, unfortunately.

As much as I like my lift to keep the Seg in the SUV, this item is THE BOMB.

Period!!!!

Question: will this be available in an 1 1/4 hitch version or only in 2 inch size?

Question : Who does the wiring to the electrical system of the car? ie is this dealer installed or do it yourself?

Comment: I very much like the inclusion of an inverter for charging the seg while on the road.

A 1 1/4" receiver will be available as a special but the 2" is recommended.

Wiring is recommended to be performed by a dealer (either vehicle manufacturer or hitch supplier), but you can do it yourself if you have the knowledge and proper tools. The SegVator uses a standard 7-way RV style plug and gets power through the Aux. circuit. On the vehicle receptacle, the one-o'clock position is positive and the seven-o'clock position is negative. A 30 amp fuse/breaker is recommended. My Suburban (2005 3/4 ton 2500 model) already had a space for the fuse in the box under the hood. All I had to do was add the 30 amp fuse/breaker and I was good to go. On a Cadillac install, we wired directly off the battery to the rear and only wired the two prongs needed as this person wasn't going to haul anything else but the SegVator.

I think if it can be a big seller. I saw one in action on the back of a truck earlier this month. And it is great.

If they can do for it, what Mario did with the Seg Seat, I think we will see another very succesful aftermarket product.

I built a similar unit to the Segvator just for my own purpose....I have no intention of making them commercially. However I used the same general idea, in adapting an RV trailer hitch 12Volt powered lift for this purpose. I found I could buy one made for a lighter weight, powered wheel chair and bought it. Then cut off the support part and added my own idea of a support for the Segway. It is a very basic model and the Segvator is MUCH better. He had a bunch of great ideas. However mine works great for its purpose. I just lower the lift and cradle to ground level....drive the Seg onto it and press the button to lift it to traveling level. I clocked this operation at 22 seconds! Same speed going DOWN to ground level. The main difference was the COST. I paid $850 for the lift and another $350 to have welding done plus the material so I could use it.....so I have WAY more in it than they are asking for the Segvator.....in my estimation, a terrific bargain with all its features that I do not have. I have been using mine for my 180 and now the i2 and it has operated faultlessly for over a year.

No question about. This is a superior product to any predecessor.

All the best to them,
Alan

Great looking product, once the new year comes around, we will have to get one for the Annapolis dealership.

We have several customers, who would really be able to use it.

Looks great for hauling but the cover completely obscures the license plate. Seem like a real easy way to get a ticket.

In quite a few states, it's legal to simply offset the license plate to another location on the bumper. I have a Segway lift on the back of my VW beetle, and have moved the license plate to the left with a new plate holder.

Works a treat, and the license plate holders are available in most Kragen, Pep Boys and other Automotive retail stores.

And are in the process of putting them together, once that happens I will post a picture.

Plus got one of their seats as well.

Wanted the Segvator Snow Plow, but had to draw the line somewhere.

I liked Marios seat alot, but with my injury the Segvator seat works out better.

It's softer on the butt, for me anyway.

It's simple and well built. I have been using one since December and for me it's great.
