I took a tour last summer with IGo and I must say I am totally hooked! We did have some unfortunate mishaps on the tour (fell of twice, hit the road pretty hard and realized I should have brought a helmet) but this thing rocks.

But I know for a fact that these guys are NOT an authorized dealer. They do tours and point people in the direction of a dealer.
But they will not sell.

Same goes for www.Glide.cc
This is "the other tourguy in Amsterdam" and I must say that they provide a more professional feel on their tour: More focus on training and a mandatory helmet!

Wish I had one...

That's a different story then I have heard, but I don't know who you are so I will take your word for granted (for the moment :D (Sorry for the dutch humor)).

What I do know for 100% sure is that WeMove is allowed to sell Segways in Zuid Holland and Noord Holland (except for Amsterdam). fbevents is allowed to sell in Limburg and IGO is allowed to sell segways in Amsterdam. This is as far as I know agreed with Segway Netherlands, Segway Netherlands is ofcourse allowed to sell segways for the whole netherlands.

Florin, aren't you actually the guy I took the tour with while being at IGo? If so, then you are the founder of IGo and this whole discussion takes a very weird turn.

I sure like to think you would remember me: the guy with the blond dreadlocks, born and raised in NY and now living in Amsterdam because of...well because of what back then used to be my girlfriend...

When I asked you (after taking the tour) what you would sell a machine for, you pointed me in the direction of Segway Nederland because you could only run tours and definitely would not sell!

Please explain.

Wish I had one...

Contact Segway Inc. to find out who is authorized for your area.
Some Segway distributers get awarded expanded territory until thigs are set up locally I hear.

Hi Geoff,

My name is Florin, the name of the IGO guy is Florian. It's one letter extra, but it makes a big difference :D

I'm not related to any segway thing in the Netherlands, I only like to talk/write about it. (Click on my face in my signature and you will see my website).

Don't worry, your not the first one who thinks I'm Florian, but I'm not.

Kind regards,

For me www.glide.cc is the right tour for Amsterdam. The guy (an American) doing the tour knows more about Amsterdam than many Dutchman.
I did the tour with him and with i-go and sorry to say but the guy of I-go is a joker. No instructions, no Helmets and is more interested in girls than that he takes care of his tour!
Florin, florian what's in an name.... Sounds all the same to me!

Hi Janette,

Welcome to SegwayChat. Although I have nothing to do with IGo, I regret that you had a bad segway experience with IGo. I haven't done the tours myself, otherwise I already had been complaining about the quality.

Since you are dutch, take a look at my forum http://www.florin-webdesign.nl/segwayinfo/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&topic_id=5&forum=1, indeed they sound the same, but it isn't the same. When you are in the neighbourhood (Etten-Leur), let me know, then we might be able to meet and perhaps go for a glide (if you have a segway).

I wouldn't mind to place an article on my website in which IGo and glide.cc are compared with each other, so if you want to write all your frustrations and compliments in a article with some pictures, then please let me know. Then everyone will know about the difference in quality.

Take care,

Kind regards,
