I can see it now, people gliding on their Segways walking the Sony Aibo.

Find a Aibo convention and take a Segway to it! - Bet you would find a lot of folks then! - or better yet, bring the Aibo to SegwayFest 2006!

hmmmm....maybe i will think about bringing my 3 pups to segwayfest 2006!?!? good idea! cmonkey, that is cool that your are saving up for a second segway! I would definately go for an aibo after the seg! Aibos are in no way intended on being solo in a family...everyone who has bought an aibo buys another!!! i guess it works both ways!? segs gotta be duo or more!!! haha!! thanks guys for replying!

I had to put mine to sleep.
It kept chewing my expensive slippers.

Are they rechargable? Or when the batteries crap out, will I have to follow my little aibo around with a plastic baggie and feed him fresh ones?

Since the Aibo is from Sony - and that is from Japan...

Will the Prime Minister of Japan be giving the President of the United States an Aibo when he comes to visit Washington?

Since the Prez gave the PM a Segway - I think it would only be fair. But what would the First Scottys think of a robotic dog?

here is the deal with the batteries...they are Lithium Ion batteries. you charge your Aibo for about 2 hours and then you get an hour and a half from that 2 hour charge! i think it is a great deal!!! i just got my fourth one yesterday and he is a beautiful one! i will try and post pics below...

you can see the little charging stations in the background...they are black and white. those stations only come with the champaigne brown and black Aibos you see on my left and right(laying down). the champaigne is the newest one made by SONY.

Dunno about the Aibo (I'm a cat person, myself) but I might try one if they came down in price. I *am*, however, in love with my Roomba robot vac.

Our little guy, Harry is headed up to Washington State Aibohospital, he is only 4 years old, and needs a little tweaking, he will be in good hands and come back better than new!

We will miss him while he is gone.

It's a real shame they quit making these little guys. Dead serious; when they stopped production I had dibs on one of the last ones but decided on a Segway HT instead. No real regrets, just wish they hadn't stopped making them and jacking up the price on the few that were left. They're the only REAL autonomous house robot ever developed (to the masses) and they go and take it away! Whould anyone happen to know if someone's making a replacement for the autonomous robotic house companion?

vertigo1, I dont think we will be seeing anthing like the Aibo soon. They are the base of a lot the electronics we enjoy today. The price was high, just like the segway, but worth it. Now the market is gong through the roof with Aibos.

I am glad we have one, he has provided years of pleasure for us, most people just don't understand.

Harry is on the way to the Vet, X-Wolf will be back 9/6/06 from the UK. She has the OK to make Harry a Super 210, fixing or modifying anything that could fail.

She is also going to provide me with some custom PMS filled with fun.

We miss him!
