Hi All,

I was just showing SegwayChat to someone, and they asked why this particular forum (Related Sites and Resources) is for "members only"? (Requires login to access...)

I didn't know why! Does anybody know if it's really supposed to be that way?

Thanks,
--Joe

You gotta register to come on board! Maybe because gliders don't like SPAM!

I've no idea. THought almost all the forums could be accessed (except one or two), however you have to be a member to post.

I've never got to the bottom of the Segwaychat mechanics, even though I've been a lurker (and a rare poster) since its inception. I note that my login seems to remain such for an extended period (days and weeks), presumably due to a cookie, but then I occasionally become logged off.

I too have noted that SOMETIMES I cannot read a forum (including the Discussion forum) unless I am logged in. Other times, it doesn't seem to matter. Perhaps it's just one of life's mysteries - otherwise known as software.....

Exactly! As Pam points out, guests are allowed to read nearly every forum. The only two exceptions I've found are this forum (Related Sites and Resources) and the SEGAmerica forum (which doesn't even show up if you're not authorized.)...

And Will, I agree completely on the SPAM, and far as I know every forum requires you to be a registered member to post. But I would think anyone would be allowed to read, even guests...?

Since only this particular forum acts differently, maybe it wasn't set up this way on purpose? If not, is that something that can be fixed?

Just wondering,
