Yahoo group invitation SEG OC

Well, I've gone and done it!
I've finally created a yahoo group for Segway Enthusiasts in and around the Orange County area.

It's called segoc.

I'm hoping to get enough local users together so should there be any interesting events/glides happening around town, at least a few of us may show up.

If you're interested in joining, send me an email and I'll send you an invitation. Right now, I tried to do a search for segoc, but it doesn't seem to be listed yet.

This is my first foray into starting a group, so wish me luck.

Ok that's really annoying! switching to google!

Not everyone watches seg chat, and this is my way of promoting segway use and affiliating with local owners!

If I can get enough people together for an event or glide, I'll still post it here, that way if there are people who wish to attend, they can do so.

There are too few events locally on segchat, and I don't relish the thought of driving 100+ miles just to make a small group event, so if someone can tell me how to fix the above link, I think we'll all be better off for it.

The segoc group is not meant to be a competitive site, but rather to augment Segchat.
My 'related link' even refers back to segwaychat!

This site is very google orineted it HATES YAHOO, but if you go in and update it, it should change to Yahoo.

The Yahoo Groups work great for our DCSEG members, it is how we share, and get together, as well as let each other know what is happening. A couple of our dealers have found it helpful too, because lots of folks come to us before they start their shopping.

You all are discovering one of the little things that Frank put in. He's not in favor of "advertising" competing chat groups on SC, so he's got the programming adjusted so that it changes the words yahoogroups to something else. That's his perogative. If this thread disappears, it may be that he's moved it - (and I'll hear about it, because I probably should have moved it [B)]). Will, I think your email addy for your group is probably incomplete --

I can understand his position, hope I can get a little leeway. Maybe I can get a little nod from SA.

I've been to some of the other segway sites/groups, and for me, segwaychat so far has been the most active source for information, rumors, stories, etc. This will always be the place to go for a big picture of things at least nationally. But like I said, having to drive 100+ miles for a glide is not my cup of tea. I'll drive 400+ to the bay area if I have a polo team and can make a weekend out of it, but I'd really like to be able to contribute to my local area too.

Well, I think What C, WWH, and I have done isn't competing with SC, it's a way of regional members to get in touch with each other.
