Has anyone checked out iXi Bike?

Has anyone seen the iXi Bike (www.ixibike.com)? This seems like another fun new transport vehicle.

Nothing much new here, just a compact/folder with a belt drive. Moulton < http://www.alexmoulton.co.uk/ > did something like this in their early days. Belt drives are less efficient than chain drives; great for motorcycles with power to p!ss away, but not so good for human powered vehicles.

Both are lighter and more compact than a Segway, easily taken on trains and buses, plus faster with nearly unlimited range. And way less expensive.

Looks like those spoke nipples don't line up too well with the spokes. Probably a result of fitting a too wide hub with a too small (16") rim. Doesn't give me too much confidence in their engineering.

belt vs. chain?

i asked about inefficiencies and they told me that this belt is different from most belts that have been tried before. they guarantee it will not skip and you'll notice no difference.

The manufacturer of the drive system, Delta Cycle Corp, is claiming 98% power transfer. D@mn efficient.
