January 30, 2003 - santacruzsentinel.com - SANTA CRUZ — Segway stopped in Santa Cruz after all Wednesday, without much fanfare. The 83-pound, battery-powered gizmo rolled into town somewhat unannounced for an impromptu demonstration with a small group of elected officials and community groups. The demonstration was planned for Tuesday, but Segway officials pulled out to host a bigger event in Florida.
