I'm sorry if this is a repost. I did a search and couldn't find anything. Anyhoo has anyone seen John Ratzenberger's Made in America show? I caught it this weekend and he had a tour of the Segway birthing grounds. In an engineering meeting they showed "next years model" very quickly. Instead of the T handlebars it had what appeared to be two vertical stalks coming from the base. It looked really cool. Much more futuristic. I have no idea how "real" it was but I hope it is something new.

There was a lot of discussion about the show when it aired the first time. The "next years model" is simply a foam design concept...it was mis-stated as being next years model. It's real in the sense that it exists, but it's in no way funtional

Ryan I don't know if anyone else here has it, but I have a .WMV file of the show with the Segway segment. I will try and post it to my webspace in the coming days.

Yeah. And the great thing about concept models is that they're always possibilities. The car I have right now (Honda Element) looks amazingly like a concept model I saw at a car show a number of years ago.

Howdy,

Does anyone have a pic (a still frame from the show) or a clip of the video showing the concept as mentioned above?

Ummmm did you try to throw a few keywords into Google's video search tool?

Worked for me.

I tried the Google Video utility and by entering the words "Segway concept" (without the quotes) I found the page re: the "Made in America" show about the making of the Segway, however, it only showed 5 or so [u]still photos </u>(none with the concept).

As for viewing the video, a note on the page indicated "Playback is currently not available."

It appears that the "Google Video" engine to which Douglas' link sent me is at beta testing level at this point.

If Doug or anyone else has a clip or pic (from the show) they can post of the concept, I think it'd be cool to have a look at the puppy!
