Pam and Karl,

This is a carry-over (spill-over???) from that other thread…

Could you please point me to some hands-on info about a water bottle holder (without the bag) and a speedometer installation instructions (Pam, you promised pictures :)).

Thanks in advance.

Yossi,

If you did a search on these forums for member W9GF0, I think he has photos in his album as well. IMHO, his implementation of the spedometer/odometer is the most polished I have ever seen.

I haven't seen him post here in quite a while but I believe he posted detailed instructions on how he came up with his mounting system, and wire threading as well.

Yossi,

Hands down, the best option is a Garmin Foretrax 101 GPS. I got the one with the bike handle bar mount and attached it to the sidebag rail. In addition to position and a bread crumb trail, it also gives you your speed, distance and cumulative distance. You can also use the wrist strap to attach it to the control handle. By the way, it uses a AAA battery.

I purchased it from www.target.com for $130.

Enjoy,

I have a different cup holder. (mine stays upright regardless of the angle of the seg...

And a different location for my speedo...
(mine requires the wires go up the control shaft...)
I tried using a wireless bike speedo, but it only transmits about a 1/2 meter to the head and that was not far enough for the head to be at the handlebar...

Karl,

Very nice!

What is the clip to which the speedo is attached. Where could I get one?

I am afraid that it is custom work. I went to a paint store and had the color matched.

The strap around the Control Shaft is the lower support clip for the upper cargo structure, and the post that comes out of it is a piece of wood that is hollow (For the wires) and painted to match the color...

I warn you that this requires you be willing to drill into the control shaft to run the wires inside. I surely would not do that till the warrenty is up, if I were you.

I am more recless than I suggest others to be...
